Summer Rummin’
I don’t know if you’ve heard of FRYE, the leather goods company, but they recently designed their first-ever home collection in collaboration with Crate and Barrel where it’s sold exclusively. We were excited to get our hands on the stunning barware to mix up this Summer Rummin’ cocktail that’s perfect for entertaining. The barware set is stunning, with gorgeously grained acacia wood and gold-finished stainless steel bar tools, all with their own personal slots to keep them safe. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the beautiful 3-piece shaker that incorporates FRYE’s signature knurling which gives it some great grip.
Summer Rummin’ is my new concoction that mixes my favorite cocktail, the Daiquiri, with delicious seasonal produce and a little Old Fashioned feel. I used fresh cherries and chamomile tea to mix up the syrup and it was ready in no time. The cherry really stood out and looked stunning, and the chamomile added great aromatics to the cocktail. I used a darker rum than is traditional, and when it was mixed with the syrup and lemon juice it was delicious, but the cocktail still needed something. My go-to, when I’m not sure, is to grab a bottle of bitters, and this time around I had so much going on already that I decided to keep it simple and classic with some straightforward aromatic bitters which bought everything together deliciously!
