Boozy Jalapeño Poppers with Avocado Sauce
Make these Jalapeño Poppers with Avocado Sauce for your friends and/or family this weekend and they will love the boozy kick of Maker’s Mark!
Ingredients:
- 12 fresh jalapeños, halved lengthwise with seeds and stems removed
- 6 ounces of cream cheese
- ½ pound of peppered center-cut bacon, diced
- ¼ cup of parmesan cheese
- 2 ounces lime juice
- 3 ounces of Maker’s Mark Whisky
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup avocado sauce (*see recipe below)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and grease a baking sheet
- In a medium bowl mix together cream cheese, lime juice, and salt/pepper
- In a medium frying pan over medium heat, render bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from the pan and drain on a paper towel.
- Discard any bacon grease and deglaze the pan with 3 ounces of Maker’s Mark and add 1 tablespoon of sugar. Reduce heat.
- Add bacon back to the pan and coat with Marker’s Mark mixture.
- Let mixture cool then add to cream cheese mixture.
- Spoon the mixture into jalapenos and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Arrange poppers on the greased baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes.
- Poppers should be lightly browned.
- Spoon avocado sauce over poppers and serve!
*Recipe Avocado Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 avocado, halved, pitted, and diced
- 1.5 cups of water
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 teaspoon of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients to a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
