Aviation Reviver
Today’s project was inspired by a visit to our local mall while looking for Christmas presents. We came across some items that we just had to have and so we worked them into this awesome cocktail that is perfect for your New Year’s Eve party with the leftover ingredients it also makes a hell of a hangover cocktail. In fact, we were initially looking for a New Year’s Day cocktail to help us recover and were getting ingredients to make a classic Corpse Reviver #2 when we found the amazing Airplane Cocktail Shaker at Williams Sonomaso we decided to mix it up and combine ingredients from another classic; the Aviation Cocktail.
It couldn’t have been any more perfect; these two great cocktails come together seamlessly when you substitute components in and out of each. Also as we were already in the store we decided to get some beautiful glassware as an early Christmas present to ourselves and the Riedel Grape Champagne Coupes fit the bill perfectly. On our way to the checkout before we got too carried away we spotted this awesome Crafthouse Jigger (no longer available) and just had to have it.
Recipe:
- 1 ounce gin
- ¼ ounce violet syrup
- 1 ounce white vermouth
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1 dash absinthe
Method:
- Combine all ingredients in the cocktail shaker
- Shake hard to combine and chill ingredients
- Fine strain into a coupe glass
