Bowling and Burch Cocktails
I love experimenting with gin cocktails, and being able to mix drinks that amplify the different botanicals in the selected GI. Today I’m collaborating with Bowling & Burch Gin, which is produced by Steve & Paul Beam, a name you may be familiar with in Kentucky distillation, at the Limestone Branch Distillery. When deciding to distill a gin, they wanted to create something with a new world style, with a focus on native botanicals. A few of the 17 botanicals you’ll notice in this gin are lemon verbena, which is so fresh and delicious, as well as honeysuckle, which just adds a little sweet hint to the concoction. The rosemary and citrus are the first things you notice as you bring your glass to your nose, but as soon as it hits your taste buds the lemon verbena and honeysuckle are joined with a deliciously tart orange, which is just perfect. A little spice on the finish makes this gin amazing in cocktails, so mix up the cocktails below, or experiment on your own, and let me know what you’re mixing.
