White Currant Negroni

I have been craving a Negroni recently but wanted to add something that made it summery. I love the bitter flavors and wanted something that would complement the already fabulous flavor profile. With that being said I went to the farmers market and found some lovely currants.

I added the currants to the negroni because the sour flavor added a summery flavor. The garnish of currants makes this cocktail look so pretty! I would serve this as a before-dinner drink. Another plus about this cocktail is that white currants offer vitamins B and C plus are high in iron and copper.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 ounces Campari
  • 1.5 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce of sweet vermouth
  • 12 white currants

Method:

  1. In a glass add Campari, gin, vermouth, and currants
  2. Muddle the currants
  3. Fill the glass with several ice cubes and strain the mixture over ice
  4. Garnish with currants
