Lavender Fizz
With the freezing weather that is sticking around this week I wanted to share a cocktail that is ideal for sitting at home by the fireplace with friends. This Lavender Fizz is a cocktail that will certainly impress your friends and will take your cocktail game to the next level. I personally love a great fizz, they are fresh, delicious, and can be modified in so many ways, making just minor adjustments to really elevate the final product. I actually discovered a delicious lychee soda while down in Mexico City and it reminded me of the warm weather of Australia, where my sister is obsessed with Lychee cocktails. As it was a refreshing soda, I couldn’t just create a Lychee Martini, so I thought of a cocktail with subtle bones that would allow the lychee to play its part, and the Gin Fizz sprung to mind.
It was perfect, a cocktail that has a solid base, yet still allowed me to be creative. I am also really looking forward to spring and wanted a flavor that really embodies the wonderful colors and scents that I imagine when strolling through the park, so I looked into which syrups I had, and the bottle of Monin Lavender immediately caught my attention; it was perfect. With its wonderful color and delicate flavor profile, it paired with the gin, lemon juice, and lychee soda perfectly, I couldn’t wait to share it with my friends.
