I’ve used avocado in a few cocktails now, and it’s delicious, but also can be very difficult to balance and work with, as the oils don’t always play nice; that’s why it’s the perfect ingredient for this Verde Bloody Mary variation. The viscous nature of the avocado is great in this drink as it gives a great mouthfeel and consistency that really matches that of an original Bloody Mary if made right. The best thing about mixing any Bloody Mary, of course, is the garnishes. It’s so hard to pick and choose which awesome garnish to throw on top of your concoction to show off to your friends, so we partnered with Raw Rutes because their Tree Brunch Cocktail Picks are just awesome, and allowed us to use all the ingredients for garnishes.
For this variation, I essentially made a salsa verde, and this recipe is really flexible, as you can swap in or out whatever ingredients you like. I left out certain traditional ingredients, such as cilantro, as they’re not so great in this, though if you want you can put them back in or even leave out the jalapeño or garlic if you’re not into it. Of course, with the Tree Brunch Cocktail Picks you can now make any Bloody Mary like a badass and your garnish game will never suffer again.
