Burnt Orange Bourbon

Today I am in a bit of a slump; instead of dwelling on it though, I decided to make a really good bourbon drink. I needed something that was a little stronger than the typical cocktail. This booze is more like a juiced-up neat bourbon but with a citrus twist of broiled oranges! When you are feeling burnt out take the edge off with this burnt orange bourbon!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Turn the oven on broil
  2. Put orange slices on a greased sheet pan and sprinkle with sugar
  3. Broil orange slices until lightly brown/burnt
  4. Take oranges out of the oven and cool
  5. Fill a large glass with ice, 2 slices of burnt orange, orange juice, and bourbon
  6. Muddle mixture and strain into serving glass
