Beer-y Bee’s Knees
Have you ever noticed that beer tastes better from a tap? Whether drinking it alone or in a cocktail, I’ll be pouring my beer from this Fizzics DraftPour from now on. It’s a great new product that converts the carbonation from your can/bottle of beer into a dense micro-foam, which in turn, enhances the aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel. The production of beer has always relied heavily on science, and the micro-foam is taking it to the next level by using science, once again, after the beer has been packaged; using ultrasonic waves. I think we can agree that it looks pretty impressive too, sitting elegantly in your entertaining area, you will definitely impress your friends by topping off their cocktails with a wonderfully foamy beer.
I love the Bee’s Knees cocktail, and any time I have the opportunity to make a cool variation I jump at it, like this Beer-y Bee’s Knees. I know, the name isn’t very creative, but it’s pretty straightforward, just like the cocktail. Instead of using the traditional gin and lemon juice, I went with a tequila and lime juice base and then, added in some strawberries when crafting the honey syrup to give it a little seasonal kick; the hardest decision was, what beer to use to top it off. I ended up with the Founders MÀS AGAVE, which is perfect for cocktails as it is an Imperial Gose brewed with agave, lime, and sea salt then aged in tequila barrels.
Recipe:
- 5 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce lime juice
- ½ ounce honey strawberry simple syrup
- Top with Founders MÀS AGAVE (approx.. 2 ounces)
Method:
- Combine all ingredients, except beer, in a cocktail shaker with ice
- Shake to chill and combine ingredients
- Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh ice
- Top with Founders MÀS AGAVE using the Fizzics DraftPour
- Garnish & Enjoy!
