Bananas Foster Milkshake
After a big weekend of binge eating and drinking, I can’t quite shake myself back into healthy mode. The best thing about this drink is that it takes an awesome dessert and turns into a boozy drink. As always I encourage you to use this as a dessert for a dinner party or as a fun drinking treat.
I used some amazing booze from Seattle to make this boozy milkshake called 3 Howls banana vodka. This vodka is perfect because it has an amazing banana flavor which is accented with cinnamon and vanilla that blends perfectly in this milkshake. I love this company because they believe in creating exceptional spirits with a unique northwest flavor. I like the unique spirits offered and the banana vodka does not disappoint. Shake up your day with this bananas foster milkshake.

- ¾ of a banana sliced horizontally into 4 pieces

- ½ tablespoon of powdered sugar
- ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract
Method:
- In a blender combine 1.5 ounces of vodka, vanilla bean ice cream, 2 slices of caramelized banana, and milk
- Blend until desired consistency
- Note: add more ice cream if the mixture is too thin or more milk if it is too thick
- Pour the blended mixture into the serving glass

Caramelized Bananas:
Ingredients:
- In a medium skillet melt butter then add sugar
- When the sugar and butter are mixed add banana slices
- Caramelize banana slices then take the skillet off of the flame
- Add 1.5 ounces of vodka to the skillet and return to the flame
- Set the alcohol on fire by either using the stove flame or a long lighter (Be extremely careful when setting alcohol on fire it can produce a big flame so stand back and be extremely careful. You can omit this step)
- Let the alcohol cook off then set the skillet aside (this process should produce caramelized bananas and caramel to use for the garnish)
Homemade Whip Cream: (feel free to use purchased whip cream and omit this step)
- Use a chilled mixing bowl and add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla bean paste or extract
- Mix on high until stiff peaks are formed; do not overbeat it will turn into butter
- Set whip cream aside
* I put the whipped cream into a zip-loc bag and cut a hole in one of the corners so that I could pipe it onto the milkshake
