Amazing Port Cocktails
I may have a slight obsession with port, which does go back before my visit to the wonderful region, but was certainly reaffirmed during my time there. It’s amazing to sip after a great meal, or any time really, but obviously it also makes a great modifier in cocktails. Here are some cocktails I mixed up for my very special IG Live happy hour.
White Port and Tonic
Recipe:
- 2 ounces Fonseca Porto Siroco
- top with tonic water
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a highball glass with ice
- Stir then garnish with grapefruit peel
Croft Pink Honey Gimlet
Recipe:
- 1 ounce Croft Pink
- 1 ounce gin
- ¾ ounce lime juice
- ¾ ounce honey syrup
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice
- Shake to chill and combine ingredients
- Double strain into a coupe glass
- Garnish with lime peel

Recipe:
- 1.5 ounces Fonseca Porto Bin 27
- 1.5 ounces Cognac
- ½ ounce orange liqueur
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
- Stir to chill and combine ingredients
- Double strain into glass
- Garnish with orange peel
Port Boulevardier
Recipe:
- 1 ounce Croft Reserve Tawny Porto
- 1 ounce bourbon
- 1 ounce Campari
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
- Stir to chill and combine ingredients
- Double strain into a glass
- Garnish with a cocktail cherry and grapefruit peel
